What you are actually scheduling.

Four things to know in advance, so the visit you book is the visit you want.

    A paid expert visit, not a free estimate.

    The on-site consultation is a billable design engagement. The fee covers travel to your property, a 90-minute walk-through with a registered landscape architect, soil and exposure notes, and a written follow-up scope. You are hiring a specialist, not opening a sales queue.

  2. 02

    Booked 6–8 weeks out.

    We accept a maximum of fourteen new commissions a year. As of January, eleven of fourteen design-season slots for 2025 are reserved. Submitting this form places you in the schedule; we confirm the date once we have reviewed your property details.

  3. 03

    A free 30-minute video walkthrough first.

    Before the on-site visit, we walk your property together over video while it is still in snow cover. You see what we see — sun angle, drainage lines, mature conifers, and the bones of the yard under winter. No charge, no obligation.

  4. 04

    Best fit: zones 2–5, 0.5–6 acres.

    We work in USDA hardiness zones 2b through 5b — Minnesota, Wisconsin, Michigan, upstate New York, New England, and high-altitude parts of the West. Our average project is 1.8 acres. Smaller courtyards and larger estates are both workable; tell us what you have.

A Few Honest Answers

Questions you are probably already asking.

Why is the on-site visit paid?
Because it is a working design engagement, not a sales call. You are paying for the time of a registered landscape architect on your land, plus the written scope that follows. The visit is deductible as a design consultation; it is credited toward a full design contract if you move forward.
My yard is under two feet of snow. Will you really come out?
Yes. For cold-climate design, winter is often the best time to read a property. We can see the prevailing wind, the sun path at the solstice, drainage patterns in the melt, and the structural bones of the yard without the canopy hiding them. We come prepared for the conditions.
My property is smaller than your average project. Is it worth contacting you?
Likely yes. Our average is 1.8 acres, but we have designed quarter-acre courtyards in Duluth and six-acre lake properties in the same season. The decision to work together is more about zone fit and project ambition than lot size.
How far in advance should I book?
Six to eight weeks is typical. We accept fourteen new commissions a year to protect design quality, and the calendar fills in the order requests arrive. If you would like a 2025 design season slot, sooner is better than later.
